US Networks to Boost Investment in Mobile Payments Platform

planning to invest upwards of US$100 million in their mobile payments joint venture, people with knowledge of the project have told Bloomberg News.

The Isis joint venture is owned by Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile USA.

The mobile networks may invest hundreds of millions of dollars in the venture -- but only if it gains subscribers -- in an attempt to catch up with the mobile wallet platform unveiled by Google earlier this year.

Apple's iPhone 5 Display Screen Smaller Than Originally Expected

Although there have been on-off rumours about the upcoming iPhone 5, that have suggested it will have a larger screen size than the current model, it is being reported now that it will have a smaller than 4 inch screen.

The current model comes with a 3.5" screen, and there had been expectation that the next model would come with a 4.2" screen, assisted by shrinking the width of the surrounding fascia to keep the handset portable.
